The Rocket Racing Bali team announced the recruitment of driver Rizal Sungkar for the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia competition which starts at the Shanghai International Circuit in March next year.
In addition to bringing Rizal Sungkar, the management of Rocket Racing Bali also signed a contract to purchase a new Porsche GT4 sports car in preparation for the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia which also takes place at the Mandalika Circuit in August next year.
“Rocket Racing Bali has a big agenda to make motorsport events more competitive and attractive in Mandalika. For that reason, we have just signed a contract to purchase the latest Porsche GT4 car,” said Purwo Handoko, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rocket Racing Bali in a press release on Sunday.
The signing of the GT4 contract was attended by Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Senior Manager & Sales Marketing Hari Kalsia, along with racer Aldio Oekon and Rizal Sungkar who recently joined Rocket Racing Bali.
Purwo explained that Rocket Racing will make the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Mandalika as a first step for them before competing in Asian competitions.
“I am grateful to Bagoes Hermanto as Managing Director of Porsche Speed Challenge Indonesia who initiated this speed challenge. I am committed to participate maximally in this race,” added Purwo.
Managing Director of Porsche Speed Challenge Indonesia Bagoes Hermanto also considered that the Porsche Speed Challenge competition was becoming more attractive thanks to the participation of the Rocket Racing Bali Racing team which was reinforced by 27-year-old racer Aldio Oekon from Jakarta.
“Rocket Racing Bali’s creativity and commitment in participating in the Porsche Speed Challenge is extraordinary. This is certainly very interesting and improves the quality of an interesting competition,” said Bagoes.
On Sunday, Rocket Racing Bali Super Car Sports Team driver Aldio Oekon grabbed the second podium in the Porsche Sprint Challenge-Mandalika Festival of Speed second session. The 27-year-old driver from Jakarta won the second fastest position, behind Daffa Ardiansyah Boediharjo from Rizky Motorsport, followed by Luckas Dwinanda from Engineplus Motorsport.
In the third race held the day before, Aldio finished the race in third place. The achievement of consecutive podiums makes Aldio confident that he can repeat his achievements as a season champion like the 2023 season.
